Vision
This musical project, titled “Durat Ahl Al-Ard” (The Jewel of the Land), was created to celebrate Saudi Founding Day, symbolizing a deep sense of belonging and pride rooted in the legacy of the First Saudi State (1727). The piece embodies the spirit of pride, honor, and resilience that defines the Saudi identity, blending authentic Najdi melodies with modern cinematic grandeur to create a timeless expression of national unity. It aims to capture the cultural soul of Saudi Arabia through sound — a tribute that echoes the nation’s journey from its noble origins to its present glory
Poem
The poem “Durat Ahl Al-Ard” captures the spirit of Saudi Founding Day, tracing the nation’s journey from its first roots to its present glory. It celebrates pride, honor, and loyalty, honoring the founders who built the Kingdom upon faith and courage. The poem concludes by affirming that today’s security, prosperity, and digital progress are the fruits of that noble legacy — with Saudi Arabia remaining a timeless beacon of pride and grace
O jewel of the earth, O qibla of all nations,
Guarded by the eye, and cherished by the soul.
From Najd your glory rose — from the finest of horsemen,
With the double-edged sword, many battles were won.
Muhammad bin Saud — the founder of the foundation,
Upon solid ground, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was born.
And Turki, noble in origin, vanquisher of foes,
The brave “Ajrab” horse carried his pride and might.
Then came Abdulaziz, reviver of glory and honor,
A man of resolve, triumph, and pure intention.
For her stood the sons of the land — courageous and true,
Not with wealth, but with presence, loyalty, and life.
All the splendor we see today was once a planted seed,
And we sow for tomorrow what will shine just as bright.
Pride, glory, heritage, security, and peace abound,
And the shields of the homeland now rise in digital form.
Melody
The melody was crafted to balance authenticity and modernity, built on the Bayat scale, which evokes warmth, emotional depth, and a distinctly Saudi identity. The Atbah rhythm, a traditional pattern symbolizing unity and valor, was employed to reflect the strength of beginnings and the resilience of heritage. The composition transitions between reflective passages and uplifting celebratory moments, mirroring the poem’s narrative of pride, legacy, and national revival
Performance
The performance of Rashed Al-Majed combined dignity with heartfelt emotion, his voice carrying both depth and sincerity.
He delivered the song with a majestic and authentic presence, reflecting the pride of Saudis in their history and identity. The choral ensemble added collective strength, reinforcing the sense of national unity and togetherness. The careful balance between high and low vocal layers gave the piece musical depth and emotional harmony, aligning perfectly with the melody and poetic essence. The performance begins softly and reflectively, then gradually rises toward a powerful celebratory climax — embodying Saudi pride, honor, and timeless grandeur
